Celtic team raising cash for local School

Celtic and Wales & West Utilities are currently working together in Briton Ferry to remediate a former gasworks site. As part of these works and given how close to the site it is, the team have been involved in activities at the Llansawel Primary School. The school is an exciting place with lots of great Teachers and Students and is at the heart of the community surrounding the site. Some of us working on the project have had the pleasure of visiting the school to give an assembly on construction safety.

The school made us feel incredibly welcome and were a pleasure to get to know. It was after this that we got to thinking how important schools, education and activity are and how in some way our project team could help with this at Llansawel Primary School! After a lot of thought it was decided that maybe the best thing to do was to suggest a marathon run around Briton Ferry split into 8 laps and starting / finishing at the school gates.

Easy you think! Well maybe it would be if those 8 (Celtic, W&WU, NPT Council and Keystone) runners were not all the wrong side of 35, more used to running around an Office than a marathon course and woefully short on preparation time to work off the excesses of Christmas!

That aside we are determined to make every effort to complete the course and raise some money for the school to spend on activities, improvements and resources that they feel will make the biggest difference to the great pupils who attend.

So please can I ask that you donate any amount you can spare so that we can help the school as much as possible by completing our event on Friday 13th February 2015 (not sure best date for such an event)!

For your sponsorship we can promise to do our best and post some no doubt terrible shots of us in lycra. But most importantly your money will help 2015 be a special year for all those at Llansawel!

Please support our team by clicking on the link below, we’ll let you know how they get on!
